Summer Blog Promo Tour: Wrap Up

Summer Blog Promo Tour: Wrap Up

For our last post during the Summer Blog Promo Tour, Ben and I are wrapping up our experience doing this Blog Tour together.  We’ve come up with a few wrap up questions to help prompt us to conclude our experiences on this tour. You can find Ben's wrap up post on his blog, Ace of Bens!

What about the Summer Blog Promo Tour was the most fun?

Having someone to talk to and share ideas with was the most fun for me. Then when we take these ideas and go off and write our answers, it was also fun to see how Ben and I responded either differently or the same to a prompt or question.

What was the most challenging part of the tour?

For me, it was finding time to work on posts, because I work full-time and was also because I was trying to keep up with my regular Tuesday and Friday schedule for the tour. I kind of failed at keeping up my regular schedule by the end, but we managed to get every post up on Sunday, so I consider that a win!

Which post from the tour are you most proud of?

There are a couple of posts that we put up that I really liked, but I’d have to say that my favourite post is US vs UK covers that we did instead of the Dream Cast prompt. I really love comparing book covers and we had a lot of different thoughts about which cover was better, so that was really interesting to see.

What did you like most about collaborating on posts?

I really enjoyed having someone to bounce ideas off of. When you are running your blog by yourself, you don’t really have that resource to say, “Hey, I’ve had this idea, what do you think?” and with a partner, you’re able to get feedback before something goes live. Ben was a great partner for this and I think we came up with a lot of good stuff! To be more specific to our partnership, Ben created some really awesome graphics for our posts, which I was in awe of because it’s not something that I know how to do yet. He also had a lot of thoughtful ideas and responses to post, and overall working with him we so much fun!

How did you benefit from doing the tour?

Because I am a fairly new blogger (I started blogging again back in January 2018), I definitely benefited from increased traffic to my page. But I also feel like I benefited from posting more variety of content through this blog tour, as it can be easy to get in a TBR and Wrap Up slump where that’s all you post.

Do you feel more connected with others in the book community after doing this tour?

Oh yeah for sure! Going to Book Con this year did this as well, but this tour made me feel more connected to other people in other areas of the world that love books just as much as I do and who also read YA. There is a real sense of community and I’m happy that this tour has introduced me to knew people via Twitter, who will in no doubt cause my TBR to increase, but I’m not mad about it.

That’s it! The Summer Blog Promo Tour is done. I am so glad that I had decided to do this tour. This isn’t usually something I would do, but it was the best experience.

Thank you so much to Ben for working with me these past couple of months. You’re a really cool person and I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and collaborating on posts. Best of luck at school this semester!  Be sure to check out Ben’s blog, Ace of Bens, he’s also on Twitter so please go give him a follow.

Thank you to the Book Bratz for putting on this tour! Without you, none of this would have happened and you are all awesome for doing this. Please go follow their blog and Twitter as well!

I’m so sorry I did not put up a regular blog post this past week! I’ve been doing some brainstorming and reworking of things, but I hope to be back on a regular schedule soon.

Until next time, have a lovely rest of your day and read something awesome!
